Fuji Icon, Alabi Pasuma Addresses Controversy with Taye Currency at Ibadan Show

Prominent Lagos-based Fuji music genre legend, Alabi Pasuma AKA OMO IYAWO ANOBI ,seemed to have indirectly addressed the ongoing issue between himself and Ibadan-based colleague, Taye Currency, during a recent show in Oluyole, Ibadan, Oyo State.

Alabi Pasuma, who had remained silent since the controversial statement by Taye Currency went viral, took the opportunity during a live performance to express his thoughts through a metaphorical storyline.

He further recounted a tale of a cat and its owner, where the owner, despite feeding the cat, was scratched by it in return.

Although Pasuma did not directly mention Currency’s name, the audience easily decoded the message.

Ijoba Fuji, as Alabi Pasuma is fondly called, explained that while he wouldn’t discard the cat, he would distance himself from it to avoid further scratches.

He cautioned his drummer against playing insulting sounds, noting that some people could interpret their meanings.

Pasuma emphasized his preference for expressing himself using Yoruba theology.
